RUSSIAN VISAS

 

NOTE Hereby we would like to inform you about the following aspects:  

  • Visa applications submitted with documents that differ from that described below are not to be processed.
  • After you obtain a visa together with your passport, you should look through it carefully. If there are any mistakes, the Consular Department will correct it immediately.
  • Mistakes done by yourself are to be corrected at your own expense.
  • The Consular Department is not responsible for the mistakes that were not pointed out before your departure.
  • The payment can be done only by bank debit card or bank transfer.
  • Paid visa fees are not refundable.
  • No urgent tourist visas are provided.
  • Multiple – entry visas are not available for tourist and private visits.

 

Tourist visas can be issued for a period  not longer than 30 days and can be single-entry or double-entry (only when during your stay in Russia you are planning to visit some neighbouring countries of Russia).

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR A TOURIST VISA: 

  1. Tourist invitation, so called TOURIST VISA SUPPORT LETTER  which can be  requested at the Russian travel agency, directly at the Russian Hotel you are going to stay in or via  Russian  travel agency.

Please, be aware that a print-out of your hotel reservation from websites offering booking services does not equal to a tourist invitation and CANNOT BE ACCEPTED.
 

  1. Electronic visa application form should be filled in via Web-site http://visa.kdmid.ru. Application form should be printed out and signed personally by the applicant. 
  2.  One recent passport photo should be glued to the application form. 
  3.  Passport or travel document that is valid at least 6 months after the expiry date of the visa and has at least 2 blank visa pages.
     
  4. Copy of health insurance that is valid in Russia during the validity period of the visa or Insurance statement for Russia. 

 Please note that it shall be explicitly mentioned in the insurance document that it is valid in Russia or worldwide. Copies of insurance cards are not admissible.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR A PRIVATE VISA: 

1.    PRIVATE INVITATION that can be obtained by your Russian relatives or friends from a local office of Russian
Federal Migration Service located in the territory of Russia only
2.    Electronic visa application form should be filled in via Web-site http://visa.kdmid.ru. Application form should
 be printed out and signed personally by the applicant. When applying for a visa directly to the
Consular Department, please choose "Embassy" as visa issuing office while filling in
application form online.

3.    One recent passport photo that is to be glued (not stapled!) on the visa application form.
4.    Passport or travel document that is valid at least 6 months after the expiry date of the visa and has at least
 2 blank visa pages.
5.    Copy of health insurance that is valid in Russia during the validity period of the visa or Insurance statement
 for Russia.  
Please note that it shall be explicitly mentioned in the insurance document that it is valid in Russia or
worldwide. Copies of insurance cards are not admissible.
If you would like to travel to Russia with business purposes you should apply for a business visa.
Business visas can be single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry. Single-entry and double-entry visas can be
valid for a period up to 3 months. Multiple business visas are normally valid for a period up to 1 year.
Please note that the total period of stay in the Russia on the basis of a multiple-entry business visa shall not
exceed  90 days per period of 180 days.
 
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR A BUSINESS VISA

1.    BUSINESS INVITATION
(a)    FMS BUSINESS INVITATION – an invitation issued by an office of Russian Federal Migration
 Service (FMS). This type of invitation can be obtained by your Russian business partner from
a local FMS office in the territory of Russia only.
(b)     OR

(b) TELEX INVITATION – an invitation issued by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This
type  of invitation can be requested by your Russian business partner at the Russian Ministry
of Foreign Affairs.
Such invitations are sent to the Consular Department directly by the Ministry.

OR (for the citizens of the Russia-EU Visa Facilitation Agreement and alike Visa Facilitation Agreements only)

(c) DIRECT INVITATION – a written request of your host Russian business partner.

Such invitation shall be printed on the official paper of the host organisation. It can be made
in any form but shall necessarily contain the INN (tax) number of the organisation.
A copy of such invitation can be submitted. If necessary, the Consular Department may
request the original invitation.


2.    Electronic visa application form should be filled in via Web-site http://visa.kdmid.ru. Application form
should  be printed out and signed personally by the applicant. When applying for a visa directly to
the Consular Department, please choose "Embassy" as visa issuing office while filling in
application form online.

!! ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR A MULTIPLE BUSINESS VISA
 
Please note that you can apply for a multiple-entry business visa on basis of a direct invitation only provided that
during the previous year you have visited Russia. Transit visits are not considered.
 
In this case the copies of your old visas with border stamps are to be submitted to the Consular
Department together with your visa application.

Please note that in accordance with the Russia-EU Visa Facilitation Agreement the length of procedures for processing applications for multiple-entry visas on basis of a direct invitation takes 10 calendar days.
        
EXTERNAL SERVICE

If you need to travel across the territory of Russia on the way to your final destination you should apply for a
 transit visa. Transit visas are valid for the maximum of 3 days when travelling by plane and 10 days when travelling by train.
 
YOU DO NOT NEED A TRANSIT VISA if you are travelling via Russia to your final destination and you spend in
Russia not more than 24 hours remaining in the transit zone of the same airport.
 
Please note that if you travel across the territory of Russia to the countries of the Customs
Union (Belorussia, Kazakhstan) according to Russian laws you need to apply for a transit visa, unless
you are a citizen of countries eligible for visa-free travel to Russia in accordance with
 bilateral agreements.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR A TRANSIT VISA:
1.    Copy of your confirmed ticket to and from Russia.
 
2.    Copy of a valid visa (if required by that country) to the country of you final destination.
 
3.    Electronic visa application form should be filled in via Web-site http://visa.kdmid.ru. Application
 form should  be printed out and signed personally by the applicant. When applying for a visa
directly to the Consular Department, please choose "Embassy" as visa issuing office while
 filling in application form online.

WORK VISA

If you would like to travel to Russia with the purpose of employment you should apply for a work visa.
Work visa can be single-entry, double-entry or multiple-entry.
Single-entry and double-entry work visas can be valid for a period up to 3 months. Multiple work visas can be valid for a period up to 3 years.
 
Please note that you are required to submit your HIV test Certificate when applying for a work visa.

 Migration Service (FMS). This type of invitation can be obtained by your Russian business partner from a local FMS office in the territory of Russia only.
